DR. MICHELLE BASIL
Chiropractor, Clinical Acupuncture
Dr. Michelle Basil has been practicing at Downtown Core Chiropractic and Acupuncture Centre since 2006. In 2012, she moved with the clinic from First Canadian Place to Royal Bank Plaza.
After attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dalhousie University in 1996, Michelle went on to pursue chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto completing the intensive four year program, and graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001. During her studies at CMCC, Michelle also studied acupuncture in 1999 in Sri Lanka. Since that time she has followed up with further study at the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program for Health Professionals as well as many continuing education courses through the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College Acupuncture program.
Michelle chose to practice with a variety of different chiropractors at the beginning of her career working as a locum chiropractor, both in Canada and throughout Australia, for five years. This experience awarded her with the knowledge of a variety of different treatment types and practice methods as well as provided the opportunity to see a varied patient base.

Tuesday: 8am - 1pm
Wednesday: 8am - 12pm
Thursday: 11:30am - 5:30pm
Friday: 12pm - 5pm
In addition to gentle chiropractic manipulations, mobilizations and acupuncture, Michelle incorporates a variety of soft tissue techniques including Graston and myofascial release to help patients reach their goals. Believing that balanced neuromusculoskeletal function is a major key to achieving better overall health is a major tenet that Michelle puts forth through her treatment. Patient care always includes options for self care including home exercise as well as ergonomic and postural advice.
Michelle is licensed by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and is a member in good standing of both the Canadian Chiropractic and the Ontario Chiropractic Associations as well as the Acupuncture Council of Ontario.
Following her belief that continuing education plays a large part in Michelle’s ability to be a thorough and exceptional health care provider has led her to participate in several courses throughout her career. Michelle holds the following continuing education certifications:

MIchelle’s expertise in biomechanics and the musculoskeletal system as well as her individualized patient-centered approach has allowed her to successfully care for patients with a wide variety of conditions helping to restore function. In keeping with her holistic approach to health, Michelle works together with other health professionals as necessary to ensure that her patients receive the best possible level of multidisciplinary care.
