DR. DARCIE SINCLAIR

Dr. Darcie Sinclair has practiced at Downtown Core Chiropractic Centre since 1997.   She has been a co-owner of the practice since 2012.

Darcie graduated in 1996 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto after earning an honours degree from Queen’s University in the Life Sciences program.

Following an initial course of acupuncture study in Sri Lanka in 1994, she has furthered her study of acupuncture at both McMaster University and at programs offered through CMCC and elsewhere. Darcie's unique combination of acupuncture training from several different institutions allows her to combine the most effective components of traditional acupuncture with a neuroanatomical functional approach, which she has found maximizes the effect of treatment for her patients.

In conjunction with gentle joint manipulation and acupuncture, Darcie uses a wide range of soft tissue techniques to help her patients achieve their goals. While many of her patients work in an office environment and have intense roles, she also treats many athletes from weekend warriors to elite performers.

Darcie believes in creating a customized treatment plan for each individual with a focus on getting you back to what you want to do as soon as possible.  She helps her patients  take control of their situation through practical, proactive advice including customized exercise programs.  She takes pride in finding solutions to complex cases, fast and effective results and her unique skill set which includes being a good listener and an ability to look at all aspects of the body as a whole.

Darcie believes that ongoing education, both as an educator and a student, is essential to providing excellent care to her patients. She is constantly exploring through innovative course work and can often be found bubbling with excitement about a new tidbit of information that will help her patients optimize their health and achieve their goals.

Combining her long time love of animals, with her years of chiropractic experience, Darcie is a certified animal chiropractor helping dogs and nice cats with their pain, movement and functional issues since 2010.  Darcie completed an intensive training program at the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre and is also a member of the College of Animal Chiropractors, which strives to ensure that its members provide the highest quality of care to our furry friends.

Dr. Sinclair was a part-time faculty member at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College for over ten years where she facilitated third year students in honing their diagnostic and patient care skills.

When not treating patients, you can find Darcie with her three big dogs somewhere on a trail in the woods, or trying convince them that vacuuming is a solid life skill that they should master.

Darcie is licensed by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and is a member in good standing of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, the Ontario Chiropractic Association and the Acupuncture Council of Ontario.
